Or should I say “Gamenight” since it’s going to be a while until toe meets leather at Husky Stadium. Roughly 7:42 p.m. is the official kickoff time.

So lots of time to settle in and read a few things. …

— Here’s my preview of the game as well as our Scouting Report. You can see in the latter that I think Chris Polk could be the real key tonight. UW’s passing attack against Arizona’s depleted secondary could have also been mentioned, as could a few other areas. But I really think Polk could have a big day against an Arizona run defense that is allowing 5.2 yards per carry, more than anyone else in the Pac-12. Riding Polk, to me, seems like the most comfortable way for UW to get a W tonight.

Don Shelton, the sports editor of the Times, says Ron Holmes’ death hit hard.

— Here’s the preview from GoHuskies.com that emphasizes the fact that UW can get bowl eligible with a win today. With 70 teams getting bowls these days, it doesn’t necessarily mean what it used to — and the old days of limiting the bowls aren’t returning so those who don’t like it are going to have to get used to it — but it means something. Most tangibly, it means 15 extra practices for what is still a young program overall — the Huskies will likely start no more than seven seniors tonight.

— Arizona Daily Star columnist Greg Hansen gives the game a rousing endorsement saying that the Huskies “aren’t very good” but that the Wildcats are a lot worse, and picks UW 51-34. Also, some good stuff in there comparing the QB histories of the two schools, though one minor clarification — Sonny Sixkiller never officially played in the NFL.
