Some post-game notes and links

A real jumble of a night here with the late start and the crazy game and insane deadlines.

I’ll do what I can to get a few notes and quotes and video up.

— First, here’s my game story with some nuts and bolts of what happened and a few quotes. Jerry Brewer also wrote his column about Chris Polk.

— Of injuries, Steve Sarkisian said Jermaine Kearse and James Johnson each rolled ankles, Anthony Gobern suffered a concussion and Will Shamburger cramps. Nate Fellner replaced Shamburger after the cramps.

— Sarkisian said they liked some of the matchup things with Gobern and that’s why he played more tonight.

— Said the same of Andrew Hudson, saying the Huskies needed to get some more speed off the edge.

— The explanation given to UW of the Michael Hartvigson play was that he didn’t control the ball to the ground. Of Fellner’s hit, it was that he was leading with the head. Sarkisian made it clear he didn’t really agree with either but said he didn’t want to talk about it in detail for fear of saying something he shouldn’t.

— Sarkisian said he was “proud of our team for finding a way to win” and that because of all that Arizona can do offensively that “we knew it was not going to be easy.”

— He said the offense was simply “out of sorts” early and will have to be better in the future.

— He said he thought the defense showed “tremendous” improvement and noted that UW held Arizona under its season average (UA got 424 compared to 471 average coming in) and declared that “a victory.”

— Here are some more quotes.
