Tuesday links — Is Chris Polk the greatest UW running back ever? Another new Husky? And more

As this season is progressing and the 100-yard games are piling up for Chris Polk, it’s becoming an obvious question — is he greatest running back ever?

Times columnist Steve Kelley explored that issue in his piece for the Tuesday paper.

In more Polk-related news on our site, Jerry Brewer breaks down some of his numbers for this season.

In other stories on our site today: Bud Withers was in Eugene over the weekend and reports that the Ducks see the Huskies as just another “faceless opponent;” and here’s my wrapup of the news from Monday’s UW press conference.

Finally from our site, a reminder that we are hosting a live chat today at noon with Lincoln Kennedy.

ANOTHER NEW HUSKY?

— Several reports out there now that UW has received a commitment from Erich Wilson, a running back from Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif., called recently maybe the best RB in the Bay Area this year. He had been committed to Colorado but visited UW over the weekend and has been reported to have made the switch to UW. Here’s another story on Wilson from 2010. Serra’s got a pretty rich history as the alma mater of Tom Brady, Barry Bonds, Lynn Swann and former UW WR Tom Scott of the Sonny Sixkiller era, amont others. Here is his Scout.com profile.
