Wednesday afternoon links

USC practices in the morning, so there are some Trojan updates to pass along as well as a few other links and notes. …

— The Orange County Register provides this injury update from USC’s practice today and notes that the Trojans may be the healthiest they have been in quite some time. The LA Daily News has a similar injury report.

— Rivals.com also breaks down USC’s practice and has video of Lane Kiffin’s session with the media afterward.

— Some good stuff here from UW coach Steve Sarkisian on Bruce Feldman’s “Free Bruce Podcast” on CBSSports.com. Sarkisian’s segment starts at about the 12-minute mark or so and he discusses again his comments about Andrew Luck and Matt Barkley, how to get Keith Price back on track, what Nick Holt said about preparing for USC and Oregon’s offenses, and maye most interesting to UW fans, his thoughts on the state of the program three years in to his coaching tenure. “I think we are getting better,” he said. “Obviously we have improved. … you try to look for markers along the way and see what other programs that had to rebuild and what they have done. Coach (Jim) Harbaugh (at Stanford) won 17 games his first three years we are sitting at 18 in season three so far, so I like we are on the right path. But how long that takes, I don’t know. … I do feel like we are on the right track and getting better.”

— ESPN.com’s Ted Miller writes that Sarkisian is “playing the media” before playing USC.

— Here are some USC links and video of Barkley talking after Tuesday’s practice.

— All of the CBSSports.com experts pick USC to win the game, but five of the seven pick UW to beat the spread.

— The line has come down a little bit to 11.5 points at some Vegas books.

— Miller’s updated Pac-12 Superlative Tracker has Chris Polk fourth on the conference Offensive Player of the Year list.

— ESPN.com’s “We Are SC” site has lots of stuff on the game. The best for UW fans might be this breakdown of the Huskies, though it’s an Insider piece and only available to subscribers.
