Looking out at a perfectly sunny fall day as I type this, and wishing I could take this with me to Los Angeles tomorrow.

Instead, the weather report for this weekend appears even more certain now that the Huskies are going to get Husky-like weather when they play at USC Saturday, the latest forecast calling for showers and a high of 63.

UW obviously plays in the rain all the time — though not really all that much this year — but rarely does so on natural grass. So hard to know who rain helps.

Another subplot of Saturday’s game is freshmen Kasen Williams and Austin Seferian-Jenkins — I wrote about the freshmen duo today. Expect Williams to only get a larger role in the offense the last four games of the season — especially with James Johnson not likely to be 100 percent this week — while the Huskies will hope to get Seferian-Jenkins back involved more after he’s been kind of quiet the last two games (and really, since the end of the first half against Stanford).

IN OTHER NEWS. …

— Here’s our weekly look back at the 1991 season.

— Somehow, I forgot to mention this — maybe the song made my mind go numb — but Bud Withers of our staff writes about the tune being played over and over and over and over and over and over and over at UW practice this week.

— The WeAreSC blog says stopping Chris Polk is the biggest key for the Trojans Saturday.

— The LA Daily News has a video preview of the game (and my favorite part may be the siren at the end).

— The Orange County Register says USC is playing better defense in the fourth quarter this year than last season, when the loss to UW epitomized its struggles in that regard.

— The LA Times says Polk is one who got away from the Trojans.

— FoxSportsWest with an exhaustive preview of the game.

— WeAreSC also notes that it’s mostly LA-area players helping to bring the Trojans back.

— ESPN.com’s Ted Miller picks USC 35-27.

— Miller also looks at what to watch for in the Pac-12 this weekend.

— Rivals.com has its weekly extensive look at the weekend ahead in the Pac-12.

Phil Steele picks USC 42-28.

Jon Wilner rates UW fourth in the Pac-12 this week.

— Lots of Pac-12 links from Vince Grippi.

Ken Goe and Wilner had a good chat on the Oregon-Stanford game yesterday.
