Here’s the full text of his Tweet:

“Nick Montana will make his first career start this Saturday. So proud, he has earned this opportunity. Need to get Keith Price fully healthy, he has had a great season.”

Price, a sophomore who has started the first 10 games for the 6-4 Huskies, is ailing with a sprained left knee suffered last week at USC. An MRI taken Monday showed no structural damage but he has not practiced this week in team sessions while Montana has taken every snap with the No. 1 offense.

It will be the first career start for Montana, a redshirt freshman who is 13-20 for 147 yards, one touchdown and one interception in reserve duty this year.

The Tweet is yet another example of Sarkisian embracing new media. He also Tweeted last year his decision that Jake Locker would start against UCLA when there was some similar uncertainty due to his injury at the time.

Sarkisian is scheduled to meet the media after Thursday’s 4 p.m. practice when he will likely further discuss the decision to start Montana.

Montana saw his most significant playing time last week when he played the final four series after Price left with his knee injury. He led UW to its final touchdown in a 40-17 loss, that coming on a 20-yard pass to Kasen Williams with 13 seconds left.

He was 9-15 against USC for 73 yards and one touchdown while also being sacked twice.
