Friday morning links — Assessing UW’s bowl chances, and more

I’m still feeling a bit groggy from the turkey, but it’s time to get back at it with the Apple Cup — at least I didn’t eat that — a day away. …

— For my story for Friday’s paper, I assessed UW’s post-season options. Sorry the answers aren’t more clear, but with the Pac-12 as tighty congested as it is in the middle — five teams that have six or seven wins — it’s hard to nail it down a whole lot more. The picture will become clearer after this weekend but there’s a good chance no official invites for most of the Pac-12 bowls will go out until after the games of Dec. 2-3 when the conference has an official champion and it’s also known how many conference teams are headed to the BCS. Bowl eligible teams can continue to practice, however, and UW coach Steve Sarkisian said the Huskies might return to the field as soon as Dec. 3.
