Pre-game video — A view from the press box

I’ve arrived at CenturyLink Field, where so far the weather is better than forecast — no rain and warmer than it might look. I shot a little video of the field and surroundings.

A couple of quick notes to pass along. …

— Two bowl games are represented here, the Alamo and the Kraft Fight Hunder. The Alamo Bowl sent its CEO here, so that indicates a certain level of seriousness, though I think any berth in the Alamo is contingent on a win today.

— The head referee is Shawn Hochuli, who is the son of veteran NFL official Ed and one of the new officials in the conference this year.

— You’ll notice two sets of hash marks and number signs. The college field has wider hashes and numbers, so that’s the reason.

— Also, we’ll plan to start out live chat around 3:30 p.m.
