Friday links — Polk, Dennison, Seferian-Jenkins honored

Not a ton of UW news our there this morning, but that will begin to change as the Huskies return to the practice field later today for their first workout since learning of their assignment against Baylor in the Alamo Bowl. For now, a few links. …

Chris Polk and Cort Dennison have been named to the ESPN.com All-Pac-12 First Team.

— In the latest award for Austin Seferian-Jenkins, he has been named to the FoxSportsNext Freshmen All-American Team.

— Here’s the writeup from the San Antonio News-Express on yesterday’s press conference with Steve Sarkisian and Art Briles.

— Good stuff from the Kelley family’s latest K-Kast with guest Taylor Barton, the former UW quarterback and mentor of Jake Heaps, talking about Heaps’ future, and lots of other stuff.

— Puyallup lineman Josh Garnett is expected to visit Notre Dame this weekend.

— The LA Times reports Jim Mora appears to still be in the running for the UCLA job, as the Bruins also have lost an assistant to Washington State. Other than that, not much news is leaking.

— Here’s some interesting stuff on some of the things complicating Arizona State’s search. But otherwise, not much real news on that front either, this morning.

— More on the tragic death of Oregon State DT Fred Thompson from The Oregonian.

— The Pac-12 is apparently supporting the Plus-One playoff model. (In my view, probably the most workable, logical and realistic change to the system that could happen quickly enough).

— Interesting stuff from ESPN.com examining how its Top 150 recruits of last year (which included Seferian-Jenkins and Kasen Williams) fared this season.

Jim Moore loves the incentives given to Mike Leach.

— Here’s Dr. Saturday’s morning roundup.

All for now.
