Another new Husky?

The “Woof!!” from Steve Sarkisian’s Twitter page today was pretty easily traceable this time.

Within minutes of Sark’s “WOOF!!” there were several reports that UW has gotten a commitment from defensive end Damion Turpin of Dominguez High in Compton, Calif. UW coaches reportedly paid him an in-home visit last night, and he’s been reportedly heavily leaning toward UW since taking an official visit for the Apple Cup.

Turpin had been committed to UCLA, but it was reported in November that the Bruins backed off of him and he then reconsidered his options. He is rated as a three-star recruit by Scout.com and the No. 61 overall defensive end, and also is rated three stars by Rivals.com. ESPN.com also gives him three stars and rates him 88th at his position (and you’ll notice lots of varying weights listed, from 225 to 255, so will be interesting to see what he is when he arrives).

Here’s a brief scouting report of Turpin from noted recruiting analyst Tom Lemming.

Turpin is the 20th known commit for the Class of 2012, the fourth from a defensive end.

Here is some video of Turpin:
