There’s no new news this morning on the assistant coaching front.
So I’ll start with some news on UW’s first opponent of 2012 — San Diego State — which comes to CenturyLink Field for Washington’s opener on Sept. 1.
The Aztecs will do so without leading rusher Ronnie Hillman who is declaring for the NFL Draft.
Hillman rushed for 1,711 yards this season, so he’ll be a big loss, though the linked story above indicates the school feels confident in his probable replacements.
And speaking of the Aztecs, I’d completely missed this story from a few days ago that detailed all the possible changes at San Diego State. One mentioned is that former Oregon State QB Ryan Katz might transfer there and be immediately eligible. Katz started in 2010 for OSU (he’s the one who threw the two-point pass attempt that was batted down by Cort Dennison) but was beaten out this year by Sean Mannion.
