Friday morning links

UW coach Steve Sarkisian is scheduled to hold a teleconference with the media this morning, so we should have lots of notes and quotes to pass a long a little later. Until then, a few other links and notes. …

Keith Heyward explained to the Portland Tribune why he is leaving Oregon State for UW, essentially saying he felt for his career it was important to branch out.

— OSU coach Mike Riley also comments on Heyward’s departure.

— The Idaho Statesman profiles former UW QB Cody Pickett and details his surging coaching career.

Keith Price, Senio Kelemete and Josh Shirley all made Ted Miller’s Pac-12 All-Bowl Team.

Zach Banner will be playing basketball Monday at UW. He also is reportedly not taking his trip to USC until the weekend of Jan. 27-28, so any decision from him is not likely to come until after that, which means almost up to the Feb. 1 signing day.

— In general UW news, the school is making more room for in-state students.

— USC needed some attrition to meet the 75-scholarship limit it will work under for three years. But it’s getting perilously thin at tailback.
