A few notes to pass along this afternoon. …
— SI.com grades the recruiting efforts of new head coaches and also throws in some more plaudits for Tosh Lupoi.
— It didn’t take long for new WSU coach Mike Leach to boot linebacker C.J. Mizell off the team following an arrest for fourth-degree assault over the weekend. Bud Withers details what it all means as does Ted Miller.
— Seahawks assistant Rocky Seto apparently said no to returning to USC.
— CBSSports.com with some recruiting notes.
— Interesting stuff today that the Big Ten is apparently on board for a four-team playoff. The Big Ten and Pac-12 have historically been pretty much in lockstep on these kinds of issues.
— Never too early to start looking ahead and to UW’s game at LSU on Sept. 8. Here’s one columnist predicting that LSU will win the National Title next season.
— Portland State just officially announced its 2012 schedule, which includes a Sept. 15 game against UW at CenturyLink Field.
UPDATE — Originally there was a note on the top of the post about former UW safety Greg Walker being admitted to the UW Medical School. Apparently that news is incorrect and Walker is still waiting to hear official word from schools to which he has applied. So I have taken it down for now.
