Monday notes — Lindquist, Eldrenkamp honored, and more

While the news has slowed, still a few things to pass along. …

— The first is an honor for UW signees Jeff Lindquist of Mercer Island and Jake Eldrenkamp of Bellevue, who each were named as winners of the 46th annual Scholar-Athlete awards from the Seattle chapter of the National Football Foundation. Here’s a link with details. Lindquist, a quarterback, and Eldrenkamp, an offensive lineman, each signed with UW earlier this month and will be incoming freshmen next fall.

— One draft analyst makes a case for Denver drafting Chris Polk in the second round, Alameda Ta’amu to the Seahawks in the fifth round (and boy is there lots of conflicting opinions on Ta’amu out there), Jermaine Kearse to Miami in the sixth

— Looks like the Mountain West and Conference USA may merge beginning with the 2013 football season.
