The UW has set its spring practice dates and policies, and the bad news for those who like to attend is that the opportunities will be limited this year due to issues with the renovation of Husky Stadium.
As is explained in this release, the school says there are issues with safety and lack of space near the construction site that mean the public will not be able to attend on-campus practices.
UW will hold two open practices off-campus — on April 21 at Memorial Stadium and the Spring Game on April 28 at CenturyLink Field. Both will begin at 11 a.m.
The school says no decisions have been set yet as to whether a similar policy will be in place for fall practices — the renovation of Husky Stadium is set to be completed in time for the 2013 season with UW playing the 2012 season at downtown CenturyLink Field.
In another change for the team, weekday spring practices will all begin at 8 a.m., something a lot of other teams have been doing (USC, Oregon to name two).
UW begins spring practice on April 2 and will practice every Monday-Wednesday-Friday for four weeks, as well as three on Saturday.
