The Huskies are off today, hitting the field again tomorrow morning. But we’ll try to pass along a couple of things on the blog today, including our usual morning links. …
— Here’s my story for the Tuesday paper on receiver Cody Bruns, who is back for a fifth-year senior season after sitting out last year as a redshirt. As noted in the story, Bruns is the only player left now who participated in games for former coach Tyrone Willingham — the other four members of the Class of 2008 who remain on the roster all redshirted that season (as shown in the chart that is with the story).
— Mason Kelley examines how the QB class in the state of Washington for the Class of 2013 is unfolding with the news this weekend that Bellarmine Prep’s Sefo Liufau has committed to Colorado.
— Former Husky QB Brock Huard penned an interesting piece for ESPN.com evaluating which schools are QB-U? He has UW at No. 5.
— So this is who Jesse Callier was talking on the phone with after practice yesterday? Here’s a nice story on the UW RB by the ESPN Pac-12 blog’s Kevin Gemmell.
— The NFL will release its schedule today beginning at 4 p.m. — somehow, it only needs three hours to do this. This is relevant for UW fans this year with the Huskies playing the season at CenturyLink Field.
— Athlon Sports debates whether UW or Stanford will have a better Pac-12 record in 2012.
— CoachSark’s blog has some info on the open practice Saturday — and important to note that they are indeed calling it a “practice” and not necessarily a scrimmage. I would assume there will be some scrimmaging, but the health issues in particular will help determine how much scrimmaging they do the rest of the way.

— Scott Wolf of the LA Daily News says the pressure is now really on Lane Kiffin.
— The LA Times examines USC’s depth issues now that it has just 75 scholarship players.
— UCLA’s student paper has a feature on QB Jerry Neuheisel, who is sticking it out with the Bruins even though his father has been fired as the Bruins’ coach.
