Nothing witty, clever or even just mundanely informational to open with — sorry — just some links to link. …
— Though first, a note that we’ll have our weekly live chat tomorrow at 1 p.m. Moving it back an hour to avoid the Times’ live chat with former Mariner Ruppert Jones.
— CoachSark’s blog has some pictures of today’s practice, including one of something I forgot to mention — a drill practicing the get-off of gunners on special teams, the kind of fundamental work you see a lot of during the spring.
— Also forgot to mention earlier that Class of 2012 QB Jeff Lindquist was again at practice this morning early on before running off to class at Mercer Island.
— The No-Huddle Series writeup of Chris Polk includes a fascinating breakdown of a UW play from last season.
— The Denver Post, meanwhile, compares Polk with Trent Richardson and Doug Martin.
— Mel Kiper has Alameda Ta’amu going in the third round to the Chiefs.
— ESPN’s story on Oregon and marijuana from earlier today elicited the expected conversation on Twitter and elsewhere. CBSSports.com added its own note that Oregon, UW and WSU are among schools that all have policies of four positive drug tests before a dismissal. As I noted earlier today on Twitter, the public schools in the state of Washington cannot do random drug tests on athletes. As explained in this story from 1995, a UW cross country runner sued, and as part of the settlement, UW agreed only to drug test when it has reasonable suspicion.
— If you’re into which players are visiting which teams in advance of the draft, ProFootballTalk.com has a pretty good list. I can’t count, though, the number of times I’ve interviewed a player after he was drafted and asked if he’d visited the team in question and he’s said no. So I’m never sure what a report of a visit means.
— Another good story on Jim Mora, this one from The Sporting News, and how hanging around UW last year helped light his fire for college coaching.
— CBSSports.com with a good feature on Rich Rodriguez and his thoughts on what it will take to revive Arizona.
— Good stuff here from Ted Miller on Arizona State, including an interesting job for the daughter of former UW offensive coordinator John Pettas.
