Video — UW linebacker Nate Fellner

We’ll conclude our player videos for today with linebacker Nate Fellner, who until a week ago was a safety.

The reality is, as Justin Wilcox noted earlier this week, safety and outside linebacker have a lot in common in terms of general responsibilities and principles. And now that Fellner is about 20 pounds heavier than a year ago,

And Fellner says he’s all for making the move.

“I’m really enjoying my new position,” he said. “I think it’s good for me and I just like to be on the field and help the team.”

Asked what he felt when asked to make the move, he said: “Coach Wilcox approached me and we had a little talk. I was concerned about my future because I want to play at the next level, so I asked him about that and he gave me the name of Winston Venable from Boise State, he did the same thing and it worked out for him, so I wasn’t concerned about it. I’m just trying to take it full steam and make the most out of it.”
