Tuesday links — O’Neil chats with Polk and Ta’amu, and more

It’s the last week of spring drills for UW, but the Huskies are off today, resuming workouts tomorrow. They’ll also practice on Friday, then hold the Spring Game Saturday. And then that will be it until August.

Also this week is the NFL Draft, and our own Danny O’Neil has again cobbled together a star-studded live chat to preview it. O’Neil will chat at noon today with former Huskies Chris Polk and Alameda Ta’amu as well as Boise State’s Kellen Moore, a native of Prosser. You can find it here.

It’ll be a good week of football live chats here as Steve Sarkisian will chat Wednesday at noon, and then I’ll hold our regular chat in this space on Thursday at noon and O’Neil will chat during the draft itself later Thursday night.

IN OTHER NEWS. …

— I’m scheduled to be on ESPN 710 Seattle at 11:10 this morning with former Husky QB Brock Huard and Mike Salk. Listen here.

Bud Withers isn’t a real fan of the move John L. Smith made yesterday.

— The Sporting News names Keith Price the 19th best player in the nation. ESPN.com’s Ted Miller has his own take on that list.

— You can vote to bring a GameDay commercial to UW.

— Miller also reviews the Husky Stadium news of yesterday.

— CoachSark.com with some pictures of Monday’s practice.

— Draft expert Wes Bunting was on with Gas and Elise at KJR-AM 950 on Monday and talked a little about hopes of Polk and Ta’amu.

— A little bit of controversy over an e-mail about scheduling exams at Cal to not conflict with the Bears’ game on Nov. 2 against UW.

— Withers also wraps up Arizona’s spring.

— WSU ends spring drills today (though it held its Spring Game Saturday, it has one more practice today). Christian Caple has news on that and lots of other links around the Pac-12.

— Some thoughts on Arizona State’s spring game.

Scott Crichton tried to clear the air at Oregon State’s practice Monday.

— The Eugene Register-Guard profiles Ducks’ DE Dion Jordan, who along with Crichton might be the best at that spot in the Pac-12 at the moment (and I’d kind of forgotten he went to Oregon as a receiver).

— Here’s a rundown of Oregon State news and Oregon.

Jon Wilner has some reaction to news at Cal, Oregon and a few other places.

— Miller also comes to the defense of the Rose Bowl’s place in the BCS.

Vontaze Burfict says he’ll play in the Arena League if he goes undrafted (and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anyone’s draft stock fall as far and as rapidly as his has the last few months).

— The Wall Street Journal examines the folly of drafting running backs too high.

All for now.
