Today’s Pac-12 coaches teleconference got the desired result of fueling a few college football stories on a day when there probably wouldn’t have been a whole lot otherwise,. Some of those stories, and a few other items, are in tonight’s links. …
— Nothing I didn’t have on the blog earlier, but here’s my story on the news from UW coach Steve Sarkisian from the teleconference.
— ESPN.com wraps up some of the more telling quotes from each coach.
— The AP reports on Stanford’s “post-Andrew Luck hangover.”
— The LA Times puts into perspective all that was said about playoff proposals.
— Here’s what Cal coach Jeff Tedford had to say.
— ASU coach Todd Graham said he’s in no rush to name a starting quarterback.
— CollegeFootballNews.com has UW No. 48 in its post-spring rankings and has a “roughly” projected record for the Huskies of 6-6 in 2012 (though it’s worth wondering about this analysis a little bit when it specifically praises the offensive line, the one area of the team that I think even the most hardened UW fans would agree is a question mark).
— The Pac-12 has said it will announce some of the first members of its announcing crew for the Pac-12 Networks tomorrow, so expect some news on that. There have been reports that former UW and UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel will be an analyst for the network and there is speculation that will be part of the announcement tomorrow.
— Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott did a round of interviews today and you can listen to one of them here.
— Finally, Jake Locker was in the news a little today as he was representing the Tennessee Titans in a caravan visit. In this story, he talks about watching the Alamo Bowl and getting familiar with a new teammate, former Baylor WR Kendall Wright. (He also has announced that his wife, former UW softball player Lauren Greer, is pregnant with a girl, due apparently in July.)
