As readers of the Mariner blog may know, I covered the team’s combined no-hitter last night. For someone who generally does just a handful of games a year filling in, pretty cool to see the team’s first no-hitter in almost 20 years.
But now, back to football. …
— The big UW news of Friday was the commitment of QB Troy Williams. Here’s a story from his hometown newspaper (though I will note that the reference to Tim Tucker still being part of the UW roster is incorrect as he was dismissed in the spring).
— And here’s my story on Williams.
— Mason Kelley, meanwhile, wrote more about the commitment the night before of kicker Cameron Van Winkle of Mount Si.
— Recruiting rankings are obviously really fluid this time of year. But the two commits this week have UW up to fourth in the Pac-12 and No. 35 nationally in Scout.com’s rankings.
— ESPN.com’s Pac-12 blog includes Chris Polk in a poll asking which player is the biggest loss in the conference.
— Lots of interesting stats in this look at the Huskies from SBNation.com.
— A few more details on the Pac-12 Network from the Albany Democrat-Herald.
— If you’re in to what the video game guys think of the Pac-12, here you go.
