Monday night links and notes

A collection of links and notes for a Monday night. …

— Several outlets are reporting that LB Michael Hutchings of Concord (Calif.) De La Salle High will announce his decision July 1. While USC is considered the leader, he recently took an unofficial visit to UW and said he came away thinking more seriously about the Huskies. Others in his final four are reported to be Cal and Oregon. Scout.com ranks him as the No. 3 OLB prospect in the country. He is reportedly attending a camp at USC this weekend. Hutching is from the same high school as UW assistant Tosh Lupoi, and has said often that Lupoi has been recruiting him for a long time. UW fans will be eager to see if that relationship pays off.

— Linebacker Peyton Pelluer of Skyline, brother of UW’s Cooper Pelluer and son of former UW assistant Scott Pelluer, has committed to WSU. He was not listed as having an offer from UW.

— UW is predicted tied for third in the Pac-12 North in a consensus of some of the picks from some of the more established pre-season magazines.

— ESPN.com’s Pac-12 blog looks at the best bets to win the conference title.

— I’ve gotten some requests to try to explain which UW games will be available on which cable systems this year. However, until the Pac-12 Networks works out all of its distribution deals, it’s a little premature — and I also worry it would be misleading since things could/will change. Here’s a good breakdown from MattSarzSports.com of what is known so far. And remember that other than games that will be on the new Pac-12 Networks, things aren’t really all that different for most people assuming you already got all the various ESPN and Fox networks.

— Here’s an interesting look at what various fired coaches are owed this year.
