Or Monday morning, take your pick. …

— Former Times staffer Mason Kelley, now with ESPN.com, reported today that offensive lineman John Lopez of Orange, Calif., will announce his decision of college in the “next week or so.” And his choice of finalists is down to UW and UCLA. ESPN rates him as the No. 13 guard in the country, so he would obviously fill a big need for the Huskies. Lopez says in the story that he knows the way he is leaning, but doesn’t reveal any hints about which way that may be.

— Here’s a list of Penn State players considering other schools that includes OL Ryan Nowicki, who reportedly visited UW late last week, Illinois over the weekend and now will visit Arizona State before making a decision. This story also indicates that LB Khairi Fortt will choose either Cal or UConn. Washington had been mentioned as a school that had offered him, but every report seems to indicate he’s looking at the Bears or UConn.

— ESPN.com’s Ted Miller says eight wins for UW is “fairly optimistic.”

— The Deseret News offers a little preview of UW, part of a series of stories on all Pac-12 teams.

— CBSSports.com lists its top five Pac-12 offensive linemen, none of whom are Huskies.

Chris Dufresne of the LA Times with a good reminder — the BCS is in place for two more years.
