Washington’s first-year defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox was a guest on KJR-AM today with Dave “Softy” Mahler.
And in what has to be some sort of record, the interview lasted 32 minutes (and that’s without any Star Wars digressions by Mahler).
That length, and having a few other things on my plate today, means I can’t give much of a transcript.
But here a few highlights:
— He said Shaq Thompson will be here this weekend and that it’s too early to really say what kind of a role he will have this season until they see him on the field.
— He said DT Semisi Tokolahi, who sat out the spring while rehabbing from foot surgery, will be ready to go.
— Asked about playing more press coverage, he said that’s always the hope but it also has to fit what the personnel of the team can handle. He said with UW’s secondary being more experienced now it may enable them to play more aggressively in the back end.
