Sunday links and a poll: 5 questions facing the Huskies as camp opens

It all starts tomorrow, as the Huskies will finally kick off training camp in preparation for a season that begins Sept. 1 at CenturyLink Field against San Diego State.

To preview the beginning of camp Monday, I wrote this story for the Sunday paper asking five key questions.

I doubt none are a surprise to those who follow the team closely — the offensive line, the tailback spot, the defense, backup quarterback, and the kickers.

I also figured I’d let you weigh in with the poll below asking which of the five questions I’ve posed is the most critical? After that, some more links.

Which of these questions do you think is most critical for UW in 2012?

IN OTHER NEWS. ..

Joe Davidson of the Sacramento Bee has the only comments I’ve seen from Shaq Thompson since his baseball season ended with the Red Sox last month. The story states that Thompson’s contract calls for him to play 10 weeks of baseball each summer over the four years of the deal (year one being this summer).

— A camp preview of UCLA. Sounds like the first day was a little different than the Bruins are used to.

— Oregon State’s defense needs work as camp begins.

— New Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez attempting to change the culture in Tucson.
