Quick Saturday scrimmage notes

The Huskies are off the field following their Saturday practice, which included about 85 plays of live scrimmaging.

We’ll get it out of the way early that there were no apparent new injuries of any seriousness.

As for the scrimmage, the defense got the better of it much of the day. The format for the full-contact part of it was No. 1 offense vs. No. 2 defense and vice versa. The No. 1 offense did not allow a point, while the No. 1 offense did not score on its first three possessions before finally getting going. There were 12 possessions total, with Keith Price quarterbacking six of them with the No. 1 offense and Derrick Brown, Cyler Miles and Jeff LIndquist getting two series each with the No. 2 offense, in that order.

There were only two touchdowns, both on passes by Price, of nine yards to Kasen Williams and 30 yards to Michael Hartvigtson. Korey Durkee, filling in at placekicker with Travis Coons resting, also had a 26-yard field goal.

There were no turnovers. And while there was some special teams work, it was not full-contact.

Here are stats:
