Thursday links — Joe Steele live chat at noon

Thursday usually means a live chat from yours truly in the noon hour.

But UW has a different schedule for the first few weeks of the season and today at noon is right around the time Steve Sarkisian talks to the media today.

So instead (though truth be told, we planned to have him on anyway this week) we’ll have former Husky running back Joe Steele for our live chat today at noon.

So check in then.

For now, a few links. …

Jerry Brewer says the Huskies will finish 8-4 this season.

— Here’s my story for today’s paper on cornerback Tre Watson.

Bud Withers on the new kicking rules.

— Withers also has a preview of the WSU-BYU game tonight.

— ESPN.com’s Kevin Gemmell now gives UW a 26 percent chance to win at LSU, up from 25 percent (and great minds wonder, what caused the change?)

— Here’s a preview of San Diego State from the Union-Tribune.

— The UT also has a feature on Keith Price.

— Here’s USA Today’s team report on San Diego State.

— SBNation ponders how many games UW will win this year.

— Here’s a guy who says take UW and give the points and run to the bank.

— Bellevue High plays a big game tonight.

Dorson Boyce had 44 yards on 10 carries for the Redskins last night as they won 30-3 over the Bucs, who got four tackles from Daniel Te’o-Nesheim and a QB hit from Mason Foster, who I’m sure played sparingly.

Isaiah Stanback didn’t have any catches, but did have a penalty, for the Giants last night.

Chris Polk could be playing for his spot on the Philly roster tonight against the Jets.

— Here’s ESPN’s Ted Miller’s take on the Pac-12/DirecTV situation and from Jon Wilner.

— Wilner also picks UW to beat the spread against the Aztecs.

— Miller also picks UW to win fairly easily.

— The Oregonian’s Pac-12 rundown leads off with the DirecTV impasse.

Christian Caple has UW fifth in his Pac-12 power ranking and also has lots of links around the conference.

— UW’s not included, but here are Stewart Mandel’s picks for the week.

— A computer picks Oregon and Utah in the Pac-12 title game.
