Monday mid-morning notes

A couple of notes and links to pass along while waiting for UW coach Steve Sarkisian’s press conference later today. …

— A few of you have asked about the new top 25 polls for this week. They are not being released until after all of the games from this weekend are played, so they won’t be out until tomorrow.

— Husky play-by-play guy Bob Rondeau said on his weekly KJR-AM show that Ben Riva will have to wear a full cast to protect his broken forearm, so he will be out a while it sounds like. That’s why he’s not listed on the depth chart and why UW will have a decision to make there, whether to slide Erik Kohler back out to right tackle and play James Atoe at guard, or stick with Mike Criste at RT and Kohler at guard (those seem the most viable options at the moment, anyway).

— Interesting story from ESPN.com’s LSU site looking back at the 2009 game, which was the first for Steve Sarkisian as UW’s head coach and John Chavis as LSU’s defensive coordinator.

— Also, an interesting power ranking of LSU players from the same site.

— NOLA.com looks at the LSU tailback tandem that will challenge UW Saturday.

— Some LSU notes from the Advocate.

Bud Withers reviews the weekend in the Pac-12.

— Here’s The Oregonian’s Pac-12 rundown.

— A couple of UW mentions in Ted Miller’s review of week one numbers in the Pac-12.

Jim Moore sizes up week one for UW.

— Lots of links around the conference from Christian Caple.
