LSU’s starting left tackle injured in practice, out for Saturday’s game

LSU’s starting left tackle, Chris Faulk, was injured in practice today and is out for Saturday’s game against Washington.

NOLA.com has the details here.

As the story notes, Faulk is considered one of the top NFL prospects on LSU’s team — here’s one rating of him as a projected first-rounder.

LSU’s line will still be a formidable challenge for the Huskies. But the Huskies will no doubt look for ways to try to exploit the loss of Faulk.

UW’s top pass rusher is defensive end/OLB Josh Shirley, though he usually winds up on the weak side and not left or right, so he wouldn’t necessarily go against Faulk’s replacement every down. But he’s the most obvious beneficiary of this, and no doubt that’s a matchup that changes a little bit for Saturday.
