It had been rumored for a few weeks that Washington might be the ultimate destination for Travell Dixon, who signed last year with Alabama before leaving in August.
Dawgman.com is reporting today that it has confirmed that Dixon will indeed transfer to UW. He will sit out this year as a transfer and then have two years left to play two beginning in 2013.
Dixon, originally from Miami, played the last two years at Arizona Western where he was regarded as one of the top junior college cornerbacks in the country, drawing offers from much of the Pac-12 and schools around the country.
The 6-1, 191-pounder enrolled at Alabama in January but left there in August for what were described as “personal reasons.”
UW obviously will have a need at cornerback next year with starter Desmond Trufant in his senior season and Dixon is no doubt being brought in to help fill that void.
