It’s one of 12 guaranteed gamedays this year for the Huskies. But in another sign of the times, it’s only one of nine. In fact, UW doesn’t play again on a Saturday until Oct. 6 at Oregon.
Today’s game, though, is suddenly important in its own right, even if it comes against the “C” team on UW’s A-B-C non-conference schedule, Portland State. The Huskies liked having this game where it is — in between the tough test against LSU and the beginning of conference play against Stanford,

Here also is our game preview, with some nuts-and-bolts info on the contest.
The game today starts at 1 p.m. and will be televised nationally on FX.
