DirecTV responds to Pac-12

The Pac-12 has been pretty proactive about making sure its stance on its dispute with DirecTV is heard, including this letter sent to fans on Tuesday.

DirecTV has responded, with this notice on its website.

And judging by the tone I wouldn’t expect a resolution to any of this anytime soon.

As you can see, DirecTV says the Pac-12 is not being reasonable in its request, and also takes pains to point out the uncompetitiveness of some of the games on the Pac-12 Networks so far and that most of the best games remaining will be on networks that DirecTV carries.

At the moment, it’s unclear how this will impact UW fans.

At the moment, Washington does not have any games scheduled for the Pac-12 Networks.

However, only three of UW’s nine remaining games have set TV designations — the Stanford game will be on ESPN, the Nov. 2 game at Cal will be on ESPN2 and the Apple Cup is on either FX or FOX.

Times and TV designations for the other six are still to be determined, meaning they could be on the Pac-12 Networks, or ABC/ESPN or FX/FOX.
