This date in Husky History

Time for our daily look at this date in Husky history.

And it’s a date that yielded one of the biggest wins in the history of the school, a 36-21 win over Nebraska in 1991.

I’ve written several different stories on that game through the years, including this story last year on the auto accident that weekend that impacted the careers of seven players, and this 2010 story on some of the bigger games in the series of history of the series with Nebraska.

Here also is our game story from 1991.

And maybe nothing better tells the story than this video of the touchdown that sealed the win:

UW has played just twice on this date since then — a 31-17 win over Arizona in 1996 (Brock Huard throwing three touchdown passes and winning conference Offensive Player of the Week honors) and a 38-7 victory over Wyoming in 2002.
