Time to catch up on some links and news from the day. …

— ESPN released its ratings for Saturday night’s games today. Here’s what it said regarding the time slot in which the UW-Oregon game was shown:

ESPN also posted strong audience numbers for its Saturday night SEC and Pac-12 doubleheader. The first game at 7 p.m. ET – South Carolina defeating Georgia 35-7 – averaged a 2.7 coverage rating, 4,015,000 viewers and 2,667,000 households. The telecast at 10:30 p.m. – a 52-21 Oregon victory over Washington – averaged a 2.0 coverage rating, 2,514,000 viewers and 1,939,000 households.
Birmingham was the top market for ESPN’s Georgia at South Carolina telecast with a 19.3 metered market rating, followed by Greenville (17.2 rating), Atlanta (16.6 rating), Knoxville (11.3 rating), Charlotte (8.5 rating) and Jacksonville (7.9 rating). Portland, with a 16.5 rating, was the top market for Washington at Oregon followed by Seattle (10.0 rating), Birmingham (7.7 rating), Greenville (4.6 rating) and Las Vegas (4.3 rating).

— I missed this over the weekend, but after Oregon State beat WSU Saturday, OSU defensive end Scott Crichton — a graduate of Foss High in Tacoma — said that while he had some motivation to want to beat the Cougars, it’s not as much as he does against Washington, saying “I hate U-Dub.” Here’s the link. For what it’s worth, UW coach Steve Sarkisian said last year that the Huskies simply missed on Crichton and should have offered him a scholarship.
