Well, that obviously didn’t go the way the Huskies anticipated, and it’s a result that will lead to a lot of questions about where this season was headed.
And there was no trying to evade the fact that things need to change when UW coach Steve Sarkisian and QB Keith Price met the media afterward.
Sarkisian said flat out that he needs Price to trust him, saying “that I want him to believe in me. I want him to take the information I’m giving him and trust me. If it doesn’t work, I’ll be the first one to tell him it was my fault.”
Price acknowledged that he’s struggling in that area right now, saying “I’ve got to trust in him and trust in the system that it’s going to work for me. There were a couple of times where I didn’t truly believe.”
Sarkisian said he would take the next four hours of the plane flight to try to figure out how to handle the trust issues with Price.
There was no real news from Sarkisian in terms of personnel, and Price said he is fine physically. Sarkisian also talked at length about the entire team needing to have more trust and confidence in the scheme, each other and themselves.
As for the blog, some early travel and some really bad internet are going to limit what I can do on here tonight.
So for now I will pass along the video of Price and the first part of Sarkisian’s meeting with the media.
