Ticket update, and a few other notes

Saturday’s 7:15 p.m. game against Oregon State is also UW’s Homecoming. And the school reports that as of Monday, it had distributed 56,000 tickets, including 4,500 to Oregon State.

That could make the game one of the better-attended of the season. UW is averaging 57,702 for the season at CenturyLink Field, with a high of 66,202 against USC. Assuming the usual purchase of a few thousand or so more tickets leading up to the game, and this week’s contest should hit that average, if not pass it a little bit.

UW averaged 62,531 last year in its final season at Husky Stadium before it was renovated.

IN OTHER NEWS. …

— OSU is favored by as much as five in a few places, but the line is mostly staying steady. It probably speaks to the public perceptions of programs that slightly lower-rated Stanford and USC were favored by more against UW in Seattle — the Cardinal by 7, USC by as much as 14.

— Here’s an Oregon State practice report, including an update on cornerback Jordan Poyer, who it looks like should be full go on Saturday.

— The Oregonian has a little feature on Mike Riley and also includes stats on how much better OSU’s offense has been on the road than at home.

— The Corvallis Gazette-Times looks at the Huskies.

— The Eugene Register-Guard has UW rated fourth in the Pac-12 this week.

— Lots of links from the ESPN Pac-12 blog.

— ESPN also has Oregon State on its Upset Alert poll in the Pac-12 for this weekend.

Pete Kaligis, a starting guard for the 1991 national title-winning team, will coach Wyoming this week with Dave Christensen, another former Husky, suspended. Details here.
