Video — UW defensive line coach Tosh Lupoi

An obvious subplot to Friday’s Washington game at Cal is the return of defensive line coach Tosh Lupoi to Berkeley, where he left in January to come to Washington.

Lupoi, as might be expected, tried as best he could to downplay that Tuesday when he talked to the media — the scheduled day during the week when UW defensive coaches are made available.

Asked, for instance, if he anticipated getting any kind of negative reaction from fans there, he said: “I haven’t really thought about it, honestly. It’s a shorter week, so it’s a huge emphasis of our preparation. It’s sped up a little bit, so it’s just a real important of us to focus on doing everything we can to go get another win.”
