Husky Football Blog

The latest news and analysis on the Montlake Dawgs.

Sunday night news and notes

The Friday afternoon game makes this a short week for the Huskies. They’ll take to the field tomorrow morning for what will essentially be their usual “Tuesday” practice, meaning a heavy day of installing and working on the game plan. So it’ll be a bit of a different week in terms of the schedule (and the holiday) and that will also be reflected in when we have some of the usual features on the blog, as well, as the media schedule is also a big different.

For now, here are a few more links and notes. …

— In my story for the Monday paper, I reviewed the Pac-12’s bowl situation and where UW may fit.

Bud Withers also breaks down how all the Pac-12 bowls may unfold, and also reviews the weekend in the Pac-12.

Kevin Gemmell of ESPN.com projects UW to the Sun Bowl.

— Gemmell also gave Keith Price a helmet sticker.

— WSU coach Mike Leach talked to the media today but did not reveal who will start at QB for the Cougars in the Apple Cup.

— The Go2Guy isn’t real optimistic about the Apple Cup and also wonders if Leach shouldn’t have done more with the Cougars this year.

— It was thought there might be some resolution to the status of Cal coach Jeff Tedford today, but sounds like it may not arrive until Monday.

— Good overview of the Civil War from Ken Goe.

— CBSSports.com reviews the Pac-12 weekend.

Bruce Feldman also reviews the weekend.

— CBS Sports’ Jason La Confora has the latest on some Chip Kelly-NFL rumors and also says Oregon’s sanctions could be “severe.”

— And here’s Stewart Mandel’s weekend wrapup.

— It came in a losing effort for the Raiders, but former Husky Marcel Reece had a career game with 103 yards rushing and 90 receiving. I’d assume Corey Dillon was the last former Husky to rush for 100 yards in an NFL game.

Daniel Te’o-Nesheim had seven tackles and Mason Foster five in Tampa Bay’s win today.

Finally, here are some more highlights of the win over Colorado:
