Part of the fun of the week leading up to natural rivalries in college football is remembering some of the memorable games of the past — even in a shortened, Holiday week like this.
So I thought I’d throw out a poll tonight asking for your favorite UW Apple Cup win.
I decided to contain the list to beginning with the Don James era through the present since I figured those are the games that the majority of you would be most familiar. But I included an “other” category if there’s another game — either in this time period or earlier — you feel deserves mention.
I picked what it seems like are usually the ones that get talked about the most this time of year, beginning with maybe the most amazing finish in the history of the series in 1975 — I wrote this story on that game a few years ago.
The others I figure may be more familiar to most of you, so I’ve included the year and a brief explanation of the game in the poll (and pictured above is Chris Polk in the 2010 win in a Dean Rutz photo):
