Sunday notes and links

It’s sort of hurry-up-and-wait time for the Huskies now in terms of what comes next. As I wrote in a story for today’s paper, that might be a good thing to allow the team a little time to get past the Apple Cup. The story also has a look at the bowl situation, though nothing that wasn’t in the blog post below.

Also, Times columnist Jerry Brewer says the Huskies need Steve Sarkisian to take his own next step before the team can. UW is now 27-25 under Sarkisian overall and 19-17 in Pac-12 games.

In other news. …

Christian Caple has a blog post on a fan apparently hitting Austin Seferian-Jenkins after the game.

— The Huskies did not get any votes in the AP poll or the coaches poll.

— Here is Washington’s updated NCAA team stats page. Among some of the more notable numbers, UW fell to 17th from ninth in pass defense, and finish the regular season ranked 30th in total defense at 353.5 and 98th in total offense at 347.58. UW also is 119th in penalties with 106, ahead of only UCLA. But as I’ve written about before, Pac-12 teams tend to get flagged more than those in other conferences — five of the eight most-penalized teams in the country are in the Pac-12. At some point I will try to do a more in-depth analysis of how those numbers compare to last year.

— ESPN.com’s Ted Miller says the Huskies still haven’t arrived.

Jon Wilner has the Huskies ticketed for the Vegas Bowl.

— CBSSports.com wraps up Friday’s Pac-12 action and Saturday’s.

— Caple has a few more links around the conference.

Anthony Gimino also breaks down the Pac-12 bowls and has UW going to Vegas.

— SBNation breaks down the contentions Jim Mora-T.J. Simers press conference after the UCLA-Stanford game.

Ken Goe with lots of good links around the conference.
