UW will return to the practice field tomorrow morning to begin preparation for its bowl game — even if it doesn’t know yet exactly which bowl game and opponent. Teams can practice if bowl eligible before the official invitation come. Teams are also not limited to 15, though it is often thought they are, though that remains the basic goal for most teams to get during the run-up to the bowl.

For now, here are a few links to start a Friday. …

— UW coach Steve Sarkisian is expected to be on KJR-AM at 11:15 a.m.

— The Pac-12 title game is tonight and Bud Withers says to expect UCLA to give Stanford a better game this time around.

Monte Kiffin resigned as USC’s defensive coordinator last night. Ted Miller also looks at what is next for the Trojans.

— Fresno State fans are also making a push for the Las Vegas Bowl though it’s still widely expected that Boise State will be the MWC representative.

— CBSSports.com offers a viewer’s guide to the weekend in college football.

— No really hard news yet on the Cal coaching search, so Ray Ratto has fun with some Twitter rumors.

— Colorado may be focusing on Cincinnati’s Butch Jones.

— Here’s the Pac-12 Rundown from The Oregonian.

Christian Caple with lots of links around the conference.

Jon Wilner with his picks for this week.

— Finally, former UW linebacker Dave Hoffmann, recently inducted into the Husky Hall of Fame, will have three book signings next week to promote the new book about his life authored by Derek Johnson, The Husky Hitman.

Those appearances are:

Taki Tiki Bar and Grill, Edmonds — Friday Dec 7, 7 p.m.;
Downtown Bellevue Barnes and Noble — Saturday Dec. 8, 2 p.m.;
Third Place Books, Lake Forest Park — Saturday Dec. 8, 6:30 p.m.
