Comment on the best Huskies of all time

Some of you who read this blog may be aware of Tom Porter, a longtime Husky booster who has turned his hobby into something of an avocation as an author.

Porter has already published two books about UW sports called “Husky Stadium: Great Games and Golden Moments” and “A Football Band of Brothers: Forging the University of Washington’s First National Championship.”

He’s now working on another, titled “Go Huskies! The People and Events that Shaped Washington’s Football History.”

Part of the book includes Porter’s attempt at creating an all-time all-UW football team.

Porter came up with one, but wrote in a recent e-mail that he also wanted to get the pulse of UW fans. So we decided I would put the team he has come up with here on the blog and then let you guys comment on it or make other suggestions — he said he wants to get as many viewpoints as possible before making the final call on the team.

So here it is (and the comments are Porter’s and players are listed in order of being on first or second team):

Mario Bailey, 1989-91 — All-Conference, 1991; Consensus All-American 1991; Conference Offensive Player of the Year 1991; Third in receiving yards – season, career.
