Monday afternoon notes — Thompson gets another honor, and more

A few notes to pass along this afternoon. …

— As a reminder, UW does not practice again until Thursday, so there won’t be any interviews or notes from practice or anything until then. At that point, though, there should be a pretty steady stream of stuff through the Dec. 22 bowl game.

Mike Anderson, who has been on UW’s staff the last four years in a few different roles, will be the new linebackers coach at Idaho. Here are details.

— The Las Vegas line, which started at Boise State by 7.5, is down to just 4.5 at one sports book.

Shaq Thompson came in at No. 9 on Athlon’s list of the Top 25 Freshmen of the Year.

Mason Kelley of ESPN.com’s HuskyNation is counting down the top five moments of the year for the Huskies and has started the countdown with No. 5 — Will Shamburger’s fumble return for a TD to basically sew up the opening win over San Diego State.

— Boise State coaches and players met the media today. Here are some highlights from The Idaho Statesman. Of note, Boise State has sold 3,100 tickets so far. As the story notes — and as UW officials had told us earlier — UW should have some numbers in a day or so.

— Fascinating stuff here from SportsMediaWatch, which has TV ratings numbers for most of the games on national TV this season, including a few UW contests.

— If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the GoHuskies.com Bowl Central page with lots of info and links to pertinent info.

— To update the earlier blog post on Colorado, the school has indeed hired Mike MacIntyre, for now finalizing the Pac-12 coaching lineup for 2013.

— Arizona State defensive tackle Will Sutton and Stanford left tackle David Yankey won the Morris Trophy today, given annually to the best DL and OL in the Pac-12 as voted on by their peers.
