You know the bowl season has begun when you see Albuquerque on your TV screen. And the sight of the New Mexico Bowl means we’re that much closer to the Las Vegas Bowl.
We’re now just a week away from UW and Boise State in Las Vegas, a game that will go a long way toward coloring the perception of Washington’s season. At 8-5, more progress can definitively be declared. At 7-6, there will be that much more pressure to make a really big move in 2013. Nothing new there, I know, just worth restating the stakes for UW on a game that nationally will likely be treated like most of the rest — an entertaining few hours and then on to the next one.
Every bowl game, though, has its own story.
As for UW, it’s two more days of practice in Seattle before leaving. I’ll have some notes/quotes from UW coach Steve Sarkisian a little later. For now, a few links. …
