Wednesday afternoon notes

As noted earlier, I’ve been spending much of my day helping with our coverage of the Seattle-NBA  situation. But I wanted to pass along a few links. …

— Rivals.com predicts where a bunch of the bigger-name uncommitted players will end up, including players UW is targeting such as LB Reuben Foster and DT Eddie Vanderdoes. Neither is projected in this story to end up at UW.

— 247Sports reported today that it had confirmed that Foster will indeed visit UW this weekend. Foster is regarded as one of the top LB prospects in the nation.

— Scout.com released its final list of the top 300 recruits for the Class of 2013. There are seven UW players listed, including all three that committed in the past week. The UW commits listed are DL Elijah Qualls (87), WR Demore’ea Stringfellow (98), WR John Ross (111), QB Troy Williams (124), DE Joe Mathis (147), CB Jermaine Kelly (157) and RB Lavon Coleman (247). All are from the state of California.

— Here are a bunch of links from around the conference from the Pac-12 web site.

— AL.com breaks down the attendance of all the bowls. The Vegas was near the bottom, though that’s not a huge surprise given the capacity of the stadium, roughly 38,000 or so.

Jim Mora was supposedly contacted by the Chargers but is apparently stying put at UCLA.

— Interesting stuff in the LA Times on USC coach Lane Kiffin.

— Here’s an early Top 25 for 2013 from ESPN.com’s Mark Schlabach.
