Husky Stadium renovation “on time and on budget”

UW is hosting another of its updates of the Husky Stadium renovation  today. I’ll have  more videos and stuff later.

But a quick update based on the opening comments of UW AD Scott Woodward:

— He said the renovation remains “on  time and on budget” with the hope that it could  be completed in time for the football  team to use it during fall camp. However, there will not be any public events in the stadium until the Aug. 31 opening game against Boise State.

— He said UW has raised $51 million in private money — the goal had been $50 million —  with $30 million cash in hand.

— He said UW has decided to spend $3 million  to “spruce up” the North side addition, which otherwise will be the only part of the stadium not undergoing a complete renovation.

— He said the football operations center will  be 80,000-square feet and also should  be open in time for fall  camp.

— There is not yet a name sponsor for the field. so at the moment it remains simply Husky Stadium. If a naming rights sponsor is found it would be “??? Field at Husky Stadium.”
