Tuesday notes — A couple of recruiting updates

With letter-of-intent day just eight days away, news is starting to pick up a bit. …

— 247Sports reported via Twitter that running back Gerard Wicks of Long Beach (Calif.) Poly, who has already committed to Washington State, will visit UW this weekend. Wicks committed to WSU over the summer but also recently visited Fresno State. He’s rated three stars by Scout.com and Rivals.com. UPDATE — There are now multiple reports that Wicks is NOT visiting UW this weekend.

— At the moment, he is one of four known official visitors for this weekend. Two of the others are the Robinson twins, Tyree and Tyrell, who also plan to play basketball in college. The other is linebacker Keishawn Bierria of  Narbonne High, the same school as Troy Williams, a Class of 2013 member who is already enrolled. However, reports are Bierria will visit Oregon earlier this week before visiting UW.

— DT Eddie Vanderdoes of Auburn, Calif. — one of the top uncommitted  players in the country — said today he will announce  his college choice on signing day at 5 p.m.  UW is not considered one of the favorites to land him, but he did visit Washington in December and maintains the Huskies are still on the list.

— Vanderdoes and Reuben Foster are each on the CBSSports.com list of the top 10 recruiting battles.

— Stanford has announced some changes to its coaching staff.
