Tuesday afternoon notes — Huskies add walk-on OL, UW announces Pro Day participants, and a few links

The Huskies have officially added one walk-0n to their roster for spring practice — offensive  lineman Sam Shirley, a graduate of Juanita High who was on the roster at Washington State in 2011.

Shirley has been with the team since the start of spring ball  last week but was not on the initial spring roster — his name has since been added, and here is his official UW bio. As you can see, he was listed at 297 at WSU and now  is at 325. (So yes, I assume this means we’ll  have a Shirley — Sam — blocking another Shirley — Josh — during lots of practices).

Here is his Scout.com page and as noted there he had a significant knee injury as a junior.

UW held tryouts for walk-ons following its first spring practice last Tuesday. But none of those players has yet been added to the roster.

A LOOK AT UW PRO DAY PARTICIPANTS — UW also  today has announced the players who will  take part in Pro Day tomorrow. As you can see, the players are Jonathan Amosa, Talia Crichton, Justin Glenn, Drew Schaefer, Semisi Tokolahi, Desmond Trufant and Devin Aguilar.

IN OTHER NEWS. …

— Here are some notes from a press conference today from Boise  State coach Chris Petersen, who seems to make it clear there is no QB battle for the Broncos and that Joe Southwick will be the starter when BSU comes to UW next August.

— And lots of links from the ESPN Pac-12 blog.
