Friday notes and links

Time to catch up on a few notes and  links. …

— To refresh everyone on UW’s spring schedule, the Huskies will practice again Saturday and then will be off for more than two weeks as the winter quarter ends, returning on April 2 after the spring quarter begins.

— A visitor at UW’s practice Thursday night was Mt. Si quarterback Nick Mitchell. He does  not yet have an offer from UW, but did receive an offer this week from Oregon State. He attended UW’s practice with former Husky Hugh Millen, who lives out in that area.

— Scout.com reports highly-touted RB Joe Mixon of Freedom High in Oakley, Calif. (same school  as 2013 UW signee Darrell Daniels) has cut his list to 16 schools, including UW.

— USA Today assesses the state of the Huskies.

— The ESPN Pac-12 blog assesses UW’s chances against Oregon this year, as well as Stanford’s defense and some other stuff, in its weekly mailbag.

— The CoachSark.com site has some video of UW’s Pro Day Wednesday.

— Some interesting stuff on what Jeff Tedford thought were some of the issues he faced at Cal.

— Here’s an update on USC’s quarterback battle, which includes former Skyline High star Max Browne.

— The National Football Post offers a spring preview of Boise State, UW’s first foe in 2013.

— Here are some details on ticket options and other activities related to UW’s trip to Illinois next September.

— The Orange County Register reports, as have lots of others, that a deal between the Pac-12 and DirecTV is unlikely to come now until football season at the earliest.
