Morning links: UW’s Keith Price named to Davey O’Brien Award watch list

Morning all. Happy Johnny Manziel Day.

Just a quick-hit post here. I’m heading to the KJR studios this morning to participate in my first “Husky Roundtable” from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Hopefully it won’t be my last.

Keith Price has been named to the Davey O’Brien Award watch list, given to the nation’s top quarterback. In all, 34 quarterbacks made the list, including five from the Pac-12: Price, Stanford’s Kevin Hogan, UCLA’s Brett Hundley, ASU’s Taylor Kelly and Oregon’s Marcus Mariota. A list of 16 semifinalists will be announced on Nov. 4 and three finalists will be named on Nov. 25.

Here’s a full list of all the award watch lists that have been announced the past few weeks.

Ted Miller says UW’s linebackers “deserve” to be considered among the elite linebacking groups in the Pac-12.

Miller also considers the Huskies to be in “great shape” at running back.

With so much hype surrounding the Seahawks, Hardcore Husky wonders if Seattle can be a two-team town.

More from SEC commissioner Mike Slive and his comments about the state of the NCAA.
